Lamon & McDaniel Builders started in 1995 when Randy Lamon and Steve McDaniel began building new homes in East Tennessee. In 2020, after 25 years of hard work and dedication, Steve retired, leaving a legacy that helped shape the company’s standards and reputation.
Today, Randy carries that legacy forward with steady leadership and a hands-on approach that clients still feel from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. With the same commitment to quality, clear communication, and accountability, he continues to guide each project with the care the company was built on.

Our mission is to build projects that support the growth, safety, and durability of our community. Through a blend of experience, innovation and hands-on approach, we deliver construction that stands the test of time and reflects our pride in the people we serve.
We are honest about costs, timelines, and what is realistic so you always know where your project stands.
We care about how things are built, paying attention to details that make a home or space last.
We follow through on what we say, stay engaged throughout the project, and stand behind our work.
We treat homes, land, and historic properties as part of the community’s long term story, not just another job.
Longstanding partnerships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients help us deliver consistent quality on every project.
From first conversation to final walkthrough, dedicated project managers keep your build organized, informed, and moving forward.
See how our historic office and our company’s story have come together over time to shape the way we build today.
The house at 825 West Broadway Avenue is built in Maryville as a two story Queen Anne and Classical Revival residence for merchant Robert G. McNutt, becoming one of the notable homes along the corridor.

The home passes to W. B. Howard and remains in the Howard family for decades, giving the McNutt–Howard House its name and deepening its place in Maryville’s residential history.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, the McNutt–Howard House was later restored by Lamon & McDaniel Builders and now serves as our daily office, a historic home that anchors the same care we bring to restorations and new projects across East Tennessee.
